JAY COLEMAN

THE FOUNDER

JEREMY "JAY" COLEMAN IS A NEW ORELEANS BORN CREATIVE, RAISED IN SOUTHWEST ALIEF, TEXAS THAT FOUNDED BLACK SPADEZ STREETWEAR AS A MEANS FOR PEOPLE TO OBTAIN HIGH QUALITY STREETWEAR WITHOUT THE EXPENSIVE PRICE TAG.

WHY DID YOU CREATE THE BRAND AND WHAT'S YOUR GOAL?

THE MISSION.

I DIDNT WANT TO CREATE ANOTHER CLOTHING LINE THAT RECYCLED THE SAME FEW DEIGNS AND ROAD TRENDS. I WANTED IT TO NOT ONLY BE UNIQUE BUT NOSTOLGIC AT THE SAME TIME. A FRESH TAKE YET A FAMILIAR FEEL. A CLASSIC IF YOU WILL.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE QUOTE?

THE MEANING.

FOLDING WAS NEVER AN OPTION REPRESENTS A REOCCURING THEME IN MY LIFE. FOR AS LONG AS I COULD REMBER IVE ALWAYS BEEN TOLD NEVER TO FOLD NO MATTER HOW MUCH PRESSURE YOURE UNDER. IT RELATES TO TWO OF MY FAVORITE GAMES SPADES AND POKER. IM SURE EVERYONE HAS HEARD THE SAYING "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE CARDS YOU'RE DEALT BUT HOW YOU PLAY THE HAND." EVERYONE EXPERIENCES PRESSURE AND HARDSHIP ITS JUST A MATTER OF HOW YOU DEAL WITH IT. DON'T LIKE YOUR HAND? CHANGE THE DECK.
